The Deaf Services Team don’t provide or manage interpreters, but you can arrange BSL interpreters through the RNID and Hampshire Deaf Association. You can also contact TEAM Communications.

If you are going to visit your GP or hospital and you want an Interpreter or Lipspeaker, please contact the Hampshire Interpreting Service for Deaf People.

Don’t forget that it is your right to have a qualified interpreter for medical appointments. In most cases interpreters are paid for by local primary care trusts.
Police Link Officers for Deaf People (PLOD)
Police Link Officers are available with sign language, lipspeaking and Deafblind manual skills to communicate with people, to give information and advice, and to provide a link to other police departments.
