Disability Sports
Disability Sport is a fully inclusive element of Sport Hampshire & IOW enabling sport for all. In any sport, there are people with mixed abilities and those with disabilities are simply part of that range.
Sport Hampshire & IOW through the work of the Disability Sport Development Officer, is dedicated to ensure that that attitudes change and facilities are provided so that anyone can have a go at the sport they love.
Aims
- Increase sport and recreation opportunities within the education/youth sector
- Where appropriate, encourage the inclusion of disability into mainstream sport
- Train and educate coaches and sports and leisure providers
- Increase participation, particularly in swimming and football
