How are Sport Hampshire & IOW working towards increasing physical activity levels?
Hampshire County Council, Hampshire’s local authorities and Primary Care Trusts and Sport Hampshire & IOW are working together to try and increase the physical activity levels of Hampshire’s adults aged 16 and over. The target is to increase the number of adults undertaking 5 x 30 minutes of moderate physical activity per week from 20% (Aug 2005) to 23.5% (additional 35,000 adults) by March 2009.
There are a wide range opportunities throughout Hampshire and the Isle of Wight for everyone to participate in a sport or activity at their chosen level – for information on your local clubs and facilities contact your Local Sports Development Team or check our club listings section.
